Welcome!
Here is that time of year again: Fall
Busy time of the year: back to school kids, get ready for Christmas and the looooong nasty gloomy weather – at least here in Canada.
I remember as I child those long dark late fall/winter evenings I spent with my grandmother and her friends at “feather-stripping parties” listening to the stories full of fantasy, fairy-tale characters, and joy and horror in the dim light of candles. Spooky…! ;-)
Woooooo! Memories one never forgets!
But let me tell you: I used to work with old and disabled people for many years, but I Never Ever met anybody who would be sorry they haven’t spent more time in their job or working harder or longer hours. They all been sorry only for those nice things in life they missed or haven’t done to/with other people.
So please make sure you also spend some quality time with your dearest ones and make their memories unforgettable too. After all that is what we will always cherish and remember.
And since those long evenings are also good opportunity to catch-up with your readings I included a simple craft which can help you with your books.
Have a very pleasant time!
Enjoy!

Decorative Brick Bookends
Material Needed:
- Couple of bricks
- Acrylic paints (different colors)
- Paintbrushes
- Newspapers
- Felt
- Scissors
- Glue
Procedure:
- Cover a clean surface with newspaper.
- Stand the bricks vertically so you can paint on their design.
- Apply the paint. Remember that since the surface of the brick is porous, it can absorb a good amount of paint.
You may need to apply several layers to create a solid covering.
- Or – if you prefer a splotchier effect – you can stop painting while some of the brick’s surface still
shows through. (looks more interesting)
- Let dry.
- Once the paint is dry, trace around the brick base on felt.
- Cut the trace out.
- Glue the felt on the bottom of each brick to prevent the brick form scratching tabletops or bookshelves
Note: Just please be Careful where to put those brick bookends as you don’t want them to fell on your kid’s foot or a little kitty.
