I just couldn't help myself I find it so hilarious I had to include it here - hope you are not mad at me Seqkat... ;-)

>^..^<

Welcome to Village of Tidbits!

Well, it's that frightful time of year again, where kids are coming knocking at your door to take all of your candy! Ahhhhh!!! That's some scary stuff! My cats think we're absurd for just giving it over. They think we should bolt our doors, cut out the lights and hide the candy in the attic!

Happy Halloween to all of you out there!

Country Time Snowman

© Copyright 2000 Lily Hadrava & www.pinecountrydecor.com

The "Country Time Snowman" is a fun project for both kids and adults!

Material Needed:
  • An empty plastic Country Time Lemonade container
  • Tea or coffee
  • An old white tube sock
  • An old colored sock
  • Buttons
  • Acrylic paint
  • Glue
  • Needle & thread (optional)
  • An old newspaper
  • 1 cup of dry beans, rocks, uncooked rice or marbles
  • Fabric scraps
  • A Liner Brush
  • A paint palette
  • A waterbin
  • A scissor

Procedure:
  1. Wash and dry a Country Time Lemonade container. You can use either the large or the small size.

  2. Tea or coffee dye an old white tube sock, making sure the sock is dry when you start the project.

  3. Find a colored sock for a hat or use fabric dye to dye a white one.

  4. Pour 1 cup of beans, rocks, rice or marbles in the bottom of the container for weight.

  5. Stuff crumpled newspaper in the container to keep the "weights" from moving around too much.

  6. Screw on the cover.

  7. Cover the container with the dyed tube sock. Start by putting the bottom of the container in the sock first and tie a knock at the top of the "head". Cut off the excess sock.

  8. Place the colored sock on the top for the hat. To form the tassel, tie a scrap of fabric tightly on the sock and cut off the foot of the colored sock. Clip the ends of the sock cuff to make the tassel. Glue the hat to the head.

  9. Tie on a fabric scrap for a scarf and glue it on.

  10. Sew or glue on buttons.

  11. Paint on the face with acrylic craft paint (Ceramcoat by Delta colors)

    Cheeks: Sonoma Wine
    Nose: Terra Cotta
    Eyes: Black
    Mouth: Black
