Let's do an experiment in stereotyping, shall we?
Imagine an extremely successful person.
Now imagine a poor man who lives in a trailer.
Chances are the first picture was of a Tall, dark-haired man wearing a suit, maybe carrying a briefcase. The second was probably a large, middle-aged balding man reclining on a couch and drinking a beer.
Rich may have meant fat "way back in the day," but one must remember that it is no longer "way back in the day" anymore.

It's interesting that you think it is a lot of money because from my perspective $25 a month is cheap, especially when the avg. health care plan for a single person costs an employer almost $375 a month. Now to be sure our health care system is ridiculously inefficient and...well overall it's terrible, but I am of the opinion that universal federal health care would not solve the problem. I would agree with taxing societally detrimental products. |
