I bought the original stones through Pampered Chef, but I've seen them in stores like Fred Meyer over the past few years. Make sure to never clean them with soap (the soap soaks in) and make sure you apply a liberal amount of oil to them prior to baking. They should work out for you. The more you use them the more "sealed" they become so nothing sticks.

Very nice, I hope to try it, I'm sure at first I'll be confused, so I'll have to braid next to my PC, lol. One thing I'd like to know is where to get those particular kind of baking stones. The one I had was just awful, and my dough caked onto it, and would not come off, eventually showing burn stains.

You smush them.

Thank you so much for posting this... please please don't ever remove it. I have made Challah twice and each time my loaves have gotten better, but each time I refer back to your video for reference.

This is great. I have a suggestion, practice the braiding with Play-Doh. Thats what I am doing now.

Thank you Maya for the very well made and helpful video.
My wife and I brought the Challah for Rosh Hashanah dinner and it was a HUGE hit (we are practically rock stars). We have a really good recipe for the Challah but braiding makes it beautiful. We could not have figured it out without your video.
We are not Jewish, but love to cook and we wanted to thank you and wish you a happy New Year.
